    Dr. Nicole Canon is an alumna of both UC Davis and Colorado State University.  She completed her undergraduate degree and received her Master’s degree in Preventive Veterinary Medicine at UC Davis and achieved her Veterinary degree in Colorado.  She also lived in Springfield, VA while completing an extensive internship that covered small animal emergency, internal medicine, surgery, dermatology and radiation oncology.  Finally she completed coursework in veterinary acupuncture.  She came to work at the Animal Hospital of Sebastopol in 2002 and liked it so much, she bought it in 2007.  For fun Dr. Nicole spends her time outside skiing, kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding.  She loves sharing her home with her husband, three cats and a dog.

  • Dr. Barbara Farrell, MS, DVM

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Barbara Farrell is from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and received her veterinary degree from the University of Minnesota.  She worked as a veterinarian in the Bay Area for 18 years before moving to Sonoma County and coming to work at the Animal Hospital of Sebastopol in 2006.  She loves being a family practice veterinary doctor.  For fun she enjoys hiking, camping, gardening, and traveling.  She lives in Forestville with her husband and daughter.  They are all active in 4H, especially with poultry.  They have a big dog, a cat and chickens.

  • Charlotte Rockwood, DVM

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Charlotte Rockwood is a Sebastopol native.  After graduating from University of California, Davis, she completed a year-long intensive internship in southern California focusing on surgery, internal medicine, oncology and emergency medicine.  She started working at the Animal Hospital of Sebastopol in 2010.  She is especially interested in preventive care, geriatric care and general medicine.  Dr. Charlotte loves outdoor activities, hiking and gardening in particular.  When she is inside she enjoys reading and cooking.  She and her husband have a son, three dogs and two cats.

  • Gwen Miller, DVM

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Gwen Miller is originally from San Diego but moved to Northern California 11 years ago and considers herself a convert to the Northern Californian way of life.  She completed both her undergraduate and veterinary degrees at UC Davis.  She started working at the Animal Hospital of Sebastopol in July 2012 after completing a year-long internship at PetCare Veterinary Hospital.  She has a special interest in animal behavior.  In her spare time, Dr. Gwen likes to read and take long walks, especially if there are blackberries to pick along the trail!  She and her husband have two cats and look forward to adding at least one big dog to the mix when they have the yard space.

  • Jill Hoffman, DVM

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Jill Hoffman grew up on a koi farm in Fremont, CA next door to Fremont Animal Hospital.  She and her sister spent their childhood swimming in the koi ponds and catching feral cats to be neutered next door.   She completed her undergraduate degree at Humboldt State University and fell in love with the North Coast.  After graduating Magna Cum Laude from veterinary school at UC Davis in 2002, she practiced as a small animal vet for 11 years in San Jose before she and her husband fulfilled a dream by moving to Sebastopol.  Dr. Jill especially enjoys being a part of the human animal bond and sharing that bond with her clients and patients through all life stages.  She is joining the Animal Hospital of Sebastopol in 2015 and is excited to be a part of the community.  She shares her home with two big dogs, three chickens,  and her husband.  Outside of work she enjoys reading with dogs on her lap, traveling with her husband, and taking the dogs to the river and beach for adventures.

  • Ilsi Medearis, DVM

    Veterinarian

    Dr. Ilsi Medearis grew up in the San Francisco Bay area, and graduated from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1990. She initially worked as an equine practitioner in Portola Valley, CA, and later worked as a staff veterinarian at the Peninsula Humane Society. Dr. Medearis returned to the Davis area in 1992 and began working at the Solano-Napa Pet Emergency Clinic as a full-time emergency veterinarian. She has remained at the emergency clinic, and currently serves as Chief Veterinarian. Dr. Medearis is a member of the Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Society. Dr. Medearis has always had an interest in Chinese Medicine and philosophy, and became certified as a mixed animal veterinary acupuncturist through the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine in Florida. She has continued to pursue extensive acupuncture training as well as training in Herbology through the Chi Institute. Her passion is to promote more wide-spread, effective integration of Eastern and Western medical practices in veterinary medicine. Dr. Medearis is an avid equestrian and enjoys riding with her husband, Dr. Clare Gregory, and their equestrian partners, Timon and Indilove Chatelet.
